SUNDOWN (online screening + Q&A)

MV5BNjEyYWE2NzYtZDgwMC00MmQxLThlNTEtZjgz

Director: Brendan Boogie

(USA,, comedy, 96 minutes)

An indie comedy about the ravages and absurdities of living with dementia. When a free-spirited gambler returns home to help his family with their dementia-addled patriarch, he finds being a caretaker a lot more complicated than he bet on.

A film festival favorite, Sundown played to an enthusiastic crowd at YoFiFest in 2017 and has won numerous awards including Best Film, Best Actor, Best Director and Audience Choice Awards. After the film, we'll talk with writer/director Brendon Boogie about making indie films, life on both sides of the camera, and being a "Boston-based rock and roller."

We’ll send you the link to the film on Thursday and you can watch it at your leisure, then we’ll meet up Friday on Zoom at 9pm EST for the filmmaker talkback, where you can meet and chat with the film's director and star.

As we adapt to the new normal, YoFiFest still thinks it’s important that people share the arts and independent film, even if, for now, it needs to be done remotely! That's why we're continuing our online screening series called Friday Flicks, where every Friday we present an evening of independent film and conversation.

We encourage you to order in from your favorite restaurant, get comfortable and enjoy the show!, You’ll be supporting a local artist, a local non-profit AND a local business all in one night!

Only one ticket needed per watching party!

SCHEDULE FOR THE SCREENING:

• Thursday evening  - Your link to movie gets sent out.

• Friday at 9PM (EST) - Post-screening talkback on Zoom with the filmmaker.
